Tully Consulting Group seeks a well-organized and customer service oriented professional who can work in the Engineering Department as a Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD). Tully Consulting Group provides civil engineering and stormwater management services in Dixon, CA and serves a wide range of public and private clients within Northern California.

 

The ideal candidate will be a positive, self-motivated team player who possesses outstanding writing, communication and interpersonal skills, and is able to work cooperatively with clients and coworkers on a wide variety of QSP tasks. Job Description: This is a full time position at 40 hours per week. Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of tasks such as writing and reviewing stormwater inspection reports, providing contractor stormwater training, serving as the Water Pollution Control Manager on construction projects, preparing of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and Erosion Control Plans, preparing Environmental Protection Plans, monitoring stormwater and receiving water bodies for pollutants and inspecting job sites for conformance with California Stormwater Construction and Industrial NPDES Permits.

Some of the typical duties of the Qualified SWPPP Developer include but are not limited to, the following:

  • Inspect commercial, industrial or construction sites for conformance with stormwater permit requirements

  • Monitor stormwater and receiving water for pollutants

  • Perform field observations, data measurement and collection assignments

  • Maintain client relationships

  • Direct field crews with BMP installations

  • Perform maintenance and calibration of monitoring equipment

  • Provide training to contractors and clients in the stormwater field

  • Assist with NPDES permit applications

  • Communicate with various environmental permit agencies

  • Provide field reports

  • Assist the engineering department with report writing and preparation of SWPPPs, Water Pollution Control Plans, Erosion Control Plans, Dust Control Plans, Stormwater Annual Reports, Environmental Protection Plans and other Stormwater Management Plans.

  • Provides temporary and vacation relief in similar occupational fields as necessary

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be graduation from high school or equivalent and either a degree in civil engineering or CPESC certification with at least 4 years experience in the stormwater management field or engineering field.

Knowledge and Skill Levels: Working knowledge of related inspection and/or civil engineering procedures; knowledge of how to use Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel. Skill in the operation of Cloud based reporting software. Learn and apply company and departmental policies, procedures, and processes.

Special Requirements: Must have QSD Certification. Possession of or ability to obtain a Class C California driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record during the course of employment. Must be at least 18 years of age.

HOURLY WAGE: Subject to negotiation based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Applicants must be free from conditions that would preclude satisfactory performance of the essential functions of the job applied for. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform site inspections on active construction sites; this involves adequate hearing and eyesight along with the ability to hike in sometimes rugged terrain and be outdoors when needed during rain events. PE Registration a bonus but not required.

 

RETIREMENT: Our company has a 401(k) retirement plan and will match employee retirement contributions up to 3% of the employees annual salary.

 

INSURANCE: Tully Consulting Group offers Healthcare, Dental and Vision Plans through Covered California, with plans available from Kaiser and PPO’s. Tully Consulting Group will pay 50% of the employee’s share of premiums.

 

VACATION/SICK LEAVE: This position starts at 15 days Paid Time Off (PTO), with annual accrual increases. Additional PTO will commensurate with employees starting experience and longevity at the company.

 

HOLIDAYS: 10 paid holidays per year
