FARMINGTON ROAD BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

Project Owner: Caltrans, District 10

Contractor: Bridgeway Civil Constructors, Inc.

Stormwater Inspections: Tully Consulting Group

This project is located on Route 99 at the Farmington Road Overcrossing in Stockton. The existing bridge will be replaced with a new one that accommodates proper vertical clearance. Currently, the old bridge has a low vertical clearance and "a history of high load hits that have damaged the bridge girders" (Caltrans).

Juan Landeros-Mireles, QSP, is performing inspections at this site, and said that "the project manager, Rigo Vasquez, is doing a great job and is a pleasure to work with. Rigo is prompt and very proactive with SWPPP correspondence".

The project recently completed all of the falsework, a temporary structure made to support the new bridge. The falsework will be removed once the new bridge can support itself. Ironworkers were busy last week installing all of the structural steel and components.

While the bridge building was occurring, a separate crew was busy installing irrigation systems along the embankment fill. Once the irrigation systems were completed, the embankment slopes were permanently stabilized with wood mulch.

As a subcontractor, Bay Cities Paving & Grading is providing all of the earthworks and paving services. Together with Bridgeway Civil Constructors, they're quickly working their way through this project. Two of our valued clients are at work building California's infrastructure!

The Farmington Bridge Replacement project is located within a few minutes of several other projects that Tully Group is providing stormwater services for. Some of those include the Fyffe Ave Grade Separation (read about it here & here), Miner Avenue Complete Street Improvements, and VA Livermore Outpatient Clinic projects.

This project has been determined to be a Risk Level 1 and is within close proximity to Mormon Slough, Duck Creek, and the San Joaquin River. Regulated species on the project include Swainson's Hawk and Raptors.
