Work will involve the construction of a new State Route 132, a 2-lane facility from State Route 99 West to North Dakota Avenue. The project is intended to improve regional and interregional circulation, relieve traffic congestion along existing SR 132 (Maze Boulevard), and improve operations.

This project is located in Stanislaus County near Modesto.

The project is scheduled to last approximately 520 working days and started last year in 2019. The total disturbed soil area is approximately 127 acres.

The receiving waters for the project are the Lower Stanislaus River and Peaslee Creek - Tuolumne River. These water bodies are known to have existing beneficial uses for cold, spawning, and migratory habitats; therefore, the project was determined to be a Risk Level 2.

Bay Cities Paving and Grading, Inc. is the Prime Contractor with WSP serving as the Owner's Representative for the City of Modesto. Yair Pilowsky, QSD, and Juan Landeros-Mireles, QSP are the primary Inspectors for the job.

Tully Consulting Group prepared the SWPPP, is providing QSP/QSD services, performing rain event and weekly inspections, preparing REAPs (Rain Event Action Plans), performing stormwater sampling and analysis, and prepared the Dewatering Plan.

A huge thank you to Bay Cities Paving & Grading for being responsive and collaborating with your SWPPP team to keep the site in good shape. It's definitely a fun project for us to be apart of as it's not every day you get to see a new highway being built!
