Estimating Assistant

Tully Consulting Group seeks a well-organized and customer service oriented professional who can work in the Estimating Department. Tully Consulting Group provides Civil Engineering and Stormwater Management services in Dixon, CA, and serves a wide range of public and private clients within Northern California.


The ideal candidate will be a positive, self-motivated team player who possesses outstanding writing, communication and interpersonal skills, and is able to work cooperatively with clients and coworkers on a wide variety of Estimating and Front Desk tasks. This position has full benefits with health, dental and vision, 401(k) and paid vacation/sick leave and holidays.



Job Description: This is a full time position at 40 hours per week. Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of typing and general clerical work of a general and routine nature; performs related duties as required. 

Some of the typical duties of the Estimating Assistant include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assists the Estimating Department with sending out proposals and editing and updating the list of "Upcoming Bids".

  • Types a variety of documents such as correspondence, proposals, and reports using computer software such as Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel; proofreads materials for correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

  • Assist with Front Desk/Office tasks such as bill payment, maintaining office supply inventory, routing and responding to client emails.

  • Answer phones, determine how incoming calls should be routed; answer routine questions; explains routine procedures, processes, or departmental activities. 

  • Compiles routine reports by extracting and/or tabulating information from a variety of sources such as files, correspondence, meeting notes, logs, previous reports, and/or oral instruction. 

  • Provides temporary and vacation relief in similar occupational fields as necessary. 

  • Typical work hours include 8AM-4:30PM or 8:30AM-5PM with a 30 minute lunch.

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be graduation from high school or equivalent, and two years of experience in related clerical work (typing, office operations, clerical training, etc.).

Knowledge and Skill Levels: Working knowledge of related office methods and procedures and office equipment operation. Skill in the operation of a variety of office equipment including ability to type at a rate of 45 net words per minute. Learn and apply company and departmental policies, procedures, and processes. 

Special Requirements: Possession of or ability to obtain a Class C California driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record during the course of employment. Must be at least 18 years of age.

HOURLY WAGE: Starting wages are $15-18 per hour. Wages subject to negotiation based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Applicants must be free from conditions that would preclude satisfactory performance of the essential functions of the job applied for. RETIREMENT: Our company has a 401(k) retirement plan and will match employee retirement contributions up to 3% of the employees annual salary. Starts after 6 months of employment.


INSURANCE: Tully Consulting Group offers Healthcare, Dental and Vision Plans through Covered California, with plans available from Kaiser and PPO’s. Tully Consulting Group will pay 50% of the employee’s share of premiums.


VACATION/SICK LEAVE: This position starts at 10 days Paid Time Off (PTO), with annual accrual increases. Additional PTO will commensurate with employees starting experience and longevity at the company.


HOLIDAYS: 10 Paid Holidays per year
