As a company, we practice our own set of Green policies to reduce our carbon footprint and environmental impact.
Green company policies include:
Turning off computers and monitors at night
Turning off & unplugging electronic appliances when not in use
Keeping HVAC thermostats at reasonable temperatures in Winter and Summer and turning HVAC off completely in Spring and Fall
Saving records of engineering plans and documents in PDF format
Recycling office waste
Reducing office waste by reducing printing
Using double-sided printing versus single-sided
Re-using printed paper mistakes as scratch paper
Making engineering check plots either in PDF format or half size
Buying recycled content paper
Using real cups for water and coffee versus disposable products
Using Efax electronic faxing versus paper faxing
Using laptops versus desktops to reduce energy consumption and make it easier to work from home when possible
